The Garhound Contests

A Roleplaying Scenario for Hero Wars

"Welcome to Garhound! So stranger, have you come to claim the hand of Melisande, the Harvest Bride? Can you prevail in the horse race, the intelligence test, the wall of death? Only the bravest are worthy! I see the Lunar Governor has taken a special interest in this year's festival: we need brave Orlanthi champions to prevail against Lunar perfidy!"

Updated and expanded for Hero Wars, The Garhound Contests return! Heroes must strive to do their very best through seven days of intense competition, testing their courage, wits, and skill in a variety of different contests to decide the Garhound Champion. Yet powerful outside forces have also gathered, hoping to turn the festival to their own ends.

The Garhound Contests are available for download as four full-color Adobe Acrobat ® PDF (Portable Document Format) files. You will need the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader^TM to view and print these files. The current Reader (Version 5) can be downloaded from www.adobe.com.

The main Garhound Contest files have been compressed using Zip. To view the files, download them to your hard disk using the links below (option-click for Mac or right-click for Windows, and choose "Save Target As..."). Unzip the files using your usual compression utility. The resulting PDF files contain fully functioning indexes and hyperlinks, and have been optimized for printing.
