Fan Material
Invitation to Web Publishers
Dear Fans,
It is my goal to make complying with the Fan Material Policy as painless and easy as
possible, so I'd like to work with you to get your website in compliance with the Issaries Fan Material Policy as soon as
possible.
First, go to Checklist for Online Web Sites to see if you qualify for an Informal
Licence. Also, go to How to Apply for an Informal Licence. If you do not qualify, possibly
because there is material on your website that may go beyond the limited use of Proprietary Material and Derivative Material
permitted under Sections 2.B and 2.C. of the Fan Policy, continue below for a Formal Licence.
Formal License Process
Check How to Apply for a Formal Licence.
That being said, I would rather not require that you immediately take down those portions of your website that conflict with the
limited use provisions of the Fan Material Policy. Instead, I'd prefer to grant you a special license to use the proprietary
Issaries material currently on your website in the manner you currently are using it. This license would be revokable at the
sole discretion of Issaries, Inc. The license would permit your website to use proprietary Issaries material currently on your
website without change. A copy of the license agreement is attached (PDF format).
As part of the terms of the license agreement, your website will need to include
appropriate Trademark and "Concept Use" statements
as per Section 3.A.1 of the Fan Material Policy. I will also need you to post a disclaimer on your website stating
that:
|
All proprietary material owned by Issaries, Inc., and all material incorporating or making derivative use of proprietary
material owned by Issaries, Inc. is used only pursuant to the terms of a revokable license from Issaries, Inc.
|
The license will not cover any future additions of material incorporating or making derivative use of proprietary material.
You will need to get specific permission from Issaries, Inc. for any such future material beyond that permitted under the
limited use provisions of the Fan Material Policy. However, in most cases that shouldn't be too difficult.
If this sounds like it would work with you, I'd like you to do two things:
- Send an email, including your website's url,
to us, with a message saying you agree to the terms of the attached license agreement, and that you are sending two signed
copies of the agreement to us by physical mail. You will receive an email saying you have the rights stated in the website
agreement for your site, allowing you to put your site up. We will also list your website on our links page.
- Print out and sign two copies of the attached agreement, and them to us at
Issaries, Inc.

We will sign the other and send it back to you. This must occur to mutually close the agreement.
If you have questions, then send them to me.
Hopefully, this will prove to be a quick, easy and painless process!
Thanks.
-Greg
